Grants background
Grant’s background is in the hi-tech manufacturing and telecommunications industries. He has held key supply chain and operations roles with responsibility for design and implementation of business systems projects (ISO, MRP, CRM, etc). This culminated in developing and delivering a large scale telecommunications reform project for ABB/Meridian Energy.
He returned to study innovation and design management in 2004/05 to better understand how to create more effective offerings and organisational change that is enduring. He was contracted to develop and manage the content of the 2005 BetterByDesign Conference for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE).
The success of this role led to him run a major project for NZTE to research and write a national strategy for the future of manufacturing in New Zealand.
He was the founder and General Manager of TradeRunner (New Zealand) Ltd, which was an innovative new company and service to take the hassle out of selling online with Trade Me. His most recent role has been as an internal business consultant with Fulton Hogan Ltd, one of New Zealand’s largest construction companies, this work focussed on how ICT (IS/GPS/GIS/Mobility) can be leveraged to make the various industry groups more competitive. Grant has a postgraduate qualification in design and innovation strategy. He is an accredited practitioner in Cognitive Edge Methods for managing knowledge in complex environments.
